New build seven to twelve storey residential development with two lower levels of car parking beneath a piazza deck. The 552 No unit development is formed in an insitu reinforced concrete frame over four separate blocks. The site presents numerous geotechnical and environmental engineering challenges in relation to the existing dock structure and associated infill materials. In relation to flood risk, detailed liaison was undertaken with the Environment Agency following which a minimum finished floor level for residential accommodation was established – further successful negotiations concluded that no on-site storage of surface water was required on the basis of the tidal nature of the proposed surface water outfall to the River Mersey.
