One New Bailey, Salford

Commercial

One New Bailey, Salford

An eight storey office building totalling 140,000 square feet. The building was formed using a structural steelwork frame with composite permanent metal deck floor plates, stabilised with an in situ reinforced concrete central core. The column arrangement was finalised following completion of a detailed ‘options’ exercise for a number of frame solutions, with column arrangements ranging from ‘internal column free’ through to a 7.5m x 7.5m column grid. An optimum column grid incorporating 10.5m span composite floor beams was established – cellular beams were utilised in order to create an integrated structure / services construction zone at each floor level.
